Urgent Care Center to be open 7 days a week, additional services also offered on weekends.
In an effort to provide more services and increase access to health care, the Columbus VA Ambulatory Care Center is providing extended Urgent Care Center (UCC) hours to serve area Veterans. Beginning May 1, 2017, the Columbus VA UCC will be open 7 days a week for Veterans. The UCC will be open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and weekends and holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no appointment necessary.
The Columbus VA UCC provides an intermediate level of care for patients with acute medical conditions or illnesses. Walk-in treatment is available, including more advanced services such as Radiology, Laboratory and Pharmacy services. The nursing and physician staff works to diagnose and stabilize patients with the primary goal of discharging the patient to home. During emergency situations, our Urgent Care staff is trained to stabilize patients awaiting transfer to a local emergency room.
In addition to the increased UCC hours, other health care services including Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Social Work, Audiology and Prosthetics are offering weekend hours. These clinics will not be available on a walk-in basis, but by appointment only.
To schedule an appointment Veterans can call 614.257.5200.
