Endocrinology & Diabetes Management

At the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center (VA ACC), our endocrinologists treat disorders of the endocrine system to include problems with the thyroid gland, pituitary gland and diabetes.  Our endocrinologists work closely with our clinical diabetes educators to help our Veterans manage their diabetes and improve their quality of life.  If you meet any of the criteria below, you may need Diabetes Education or Pre-Diabetes Education:

  • You are trying to prevent diabetes
  • You have recently been diagnoses with diabetes
  • Your diabetes is out of control; if your A1C is equal to or greater than 8
  • Your blood sugars are increasing
  • You are developing vision loss, kidney problems or other problems resulting from diabetes
  • It has been more than two years since you attended a diabetes education class
